Monica Berg is a London based multi-award-winning bartender and entrepreneur. Her work includes Muyu liqueurs and recently opened London bar(s) Tayēr + Elementary with partner Alex Kratena – named the No 1 spot to drink in London 2019 by Time Out.

In 2017 she received the “Industry Improver” award at the Nordic Bartender’s Choice Awards, and featured in Wallpaper* Graduate Directory 2018, as one of the brightest new talents to watch.

She continues to be recognized for her distinctive and adventurous drinks style, and in 2019 won both the prestigious “International Bartender of The Year” at Spirited Awards, Tales of The Cocktail, and “Bartender’s Bartender” by The Worlds 50 Best Bars.

She is the co-founder of P(OUR), an industry non- profit and charity, which works to expand drinks knowledge across the bar community and supports communities producing regional ingredients for the drinks and food industry.

Her latest project is BackOfHouse.Info, a free online resource for small businesses to get anonymous feedback from their teams, and where employees can flag harmful behavior, discrimination, and harassment.

In 2020 Monica Berg and Alex Kratena won the Bar Innovators Of The Year Award by Class Magazine and during the Covid19 crisis launched Tayēr RTD; a collection of ready to drink bottled cocktails, which bring together the best of classics and contemporary flavours.

Thomas

Jack Rose Dining Saloon / The USA

Bill Thomas is the owner of Jack Rose Dining Saloon, home to the one of the largest publicly available whisk(e)y collections in the world with more than 2,700 different expressions. Thomas opened Jack Rose in 2011, but he has been in the whisk(e)y & bar business for more than 20 years. Considered one of the foremost authorities on whiskey in the United States, Thomas is often featured on judging panels, in whisk(e)y history documentaries and leading tastings across the country. Thomas is also an avid personal collector, with more than 8,000 bottles in his private collection. Thomas added a new restaurant and vintage spirits bar to his hospitality group, with The Imperial and basement cocktail den Dram & Grain which opened three doors down from Jack Rose in November 2019.

Julie
Reiner

Instrumental in shaping New York City’s cocktail culture, Julie Reiner has been highly influential in the bar scene for over 15 years. She has founded a number of the city’s top bars, most notably the former Flatiron Lounge, and Pegu Club, as well as Brooklyn’s award-winning cocktail bars, Clover Club and Leyenda.

Julie’s work on Clover Club has received countless accolades including Best New Cocktail Bar, and Best American Cocktail Bar at Tales of the Cocktail’s Spirited Awards in 2009, as well as Best High Volume Cocktail Bar in 2013. Clover Club has also been listed on Drinks International’s list of the World’s 50 Best Bars five times.

Julie’s expertise can be seen in documentaries such as Hey Bartender and Spirit Guides: The Return of Craft Bartending in New York. She has also featured on television shows including Iron Chef America, where she served as a judge, and Best Bars in America, where Clover Club was highlighted on the Brooklyn episode.

 

Julie has been recognized personally as Best Bar Mentor at Tales of the Cocktail’s Spirited Awards, and she has also received a James Beard nomination for Spirits Professional of the Year. Her work has been featured in numerous notable publications including The New York Times, New York Magazine, Food & Wine, and most proudly her book, Craft Cocktail Party.
